That’s a deep and important question—because many believers experience one but neglect the other.
Let’s make it clear and practical.
1. LIVING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD (INWARD REALITY)
When you live in the Kingdom, it means the rule of God is established inside you.
Jesus said in Gospel of Luke 17:21, “The kingdom of God is within you.”
What it looks like:
You have peace even in trouble
You walk in righteousness and holiness
You are led by the Holy Spirit
Your heart is aligned with God’s will
In simple terms:
Living in the Kingdom = God reigns in your heart
It is about:
Character
Transformation
Personal relationship with God
You can be in a noisy world but still carry inner peace—that’s Kingdom life within.
2. LIVING OUT THE KINGDOM OF GOD (OUTWARD EXPRESSION)
Living out the Kingdom means expressing God’s rule through your life to others.
Jesus demonstrated this everywhere—healing, teaching, delivering, loving.
For example, in Gospel of Matthew 10:7–8, He told His disciples to preach and demonstrate the Kingdom.
What it looks like:
Preaching the gospel
Showing love and compassion
Praying for the sick
Standing for truth and justice
Influencing your environment
In simple terms:
Living out the Kingdom = God works through you
It is about:
Impact
Service
Demonstration of God’s power
3. THE KEY DIFFERENCE
Living IN the Kingdom → Internal (who you are)
Living OUT the Kingdom → External (what you do)
Or even simpler:
IN = Transformation
OUT = Manifestation
4. WHY BOTH ARE NECESSARY
Here’s the truth:
You cannot effectively live out what you have not first lived in.
If there is no inner peace → your ministry becomes stress
If there is no inner righteousness → your witness loses power
But also:
If you only live inwardly → you become spiritually stagnant
The Kingdom must flow, not just stay inside
Jesus’ model:
He was rooted in God (IN), and He impacted the world (OUT)
5. PRACTICAL BALANCE
To live both:
Live IN:
Daily prayer
Study of the Word
Obedience to the Holy Spirit
Live OUT:
Share your faith
Serve others
Be bold in representing Christ
FINAL INSIGHT
The Kingdom is not complete in you until:
It changes your life (IN), and
It touches other lives through you (OUT)
DECLARATION
“The Kingdom of God lives in me, and it flows through me. I carry His presence, and I reveal His power.”
