
President Mahama to Meet ‘Mahama Wodiyenka’ Cocoa Protester
Accra, March 27,
President John Dramani Mahama is expected to meet a cocoa farmer popularly known as “Mahama Wodiyenka”, following a viral protest in the Ashanti Region that has drawn widespread public attention.
The protester, whose emotional outburst over challenges facing cocoa farmers has been widely shared on social media, has become a symbol of growing frustrations within Ghana’s cocoa sector.
In the viral video, the farmer wearing a red headband passionately expressed concerns about low cocoa prices, rising cost of farm inputs, and the general economic hardship confronting cocoa-growing communities.
