Sermon Title: “Call Unto Me: Accessing God’s Hidden Things”
Text: Jeremiah 33:3
Key Verse:
“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”
Introduction
Jeremiah received this word while he was in prison—confined, restricted, and surrounded by uncertainty. Yet, in that place, God gave him a powerful invitation. This shows that no matter your situation—whether you feel stuck, delayed, or overwhelmed—God is still speaking and calling you into deeper fellowship.
1. The Invitation: “Call unto Me”
God is inviting you into a personal relationship. He didn’t say “send someone” or “complain”—He said call.
Calling requires intentionality
Calling requires faith
Calling requires dependence on God
God desires communication with you. Prayer is not a ritual; it is a lifeline.
Application:
Make prayer your first response, not your last option.
2. The Assurance: “I will answer thee”
God does not ignore the cries of His people.
His answer may not always be immediate, but it is always certain
His answer may not always be what you expect, but it is always perfect
This is a promise, not a possibility.
Scriptural support:
Isaiah 65:24 – “Before they call, I will answer…”
Application:
Trust God’s timing and remain consistent in prayer.
3. The Revelation: “I will show thee great and mighty things”
God is not just answering prayers—He is revealing mysteries.
“Great things” = things beyond human ability
“Mighty things” = hidden, fortified, inaccessible truths
God specializes in showing what human wisdom cannot discover.
Examples:
He revealed dreams to Joseph
He gave Daniel understanding of mysteries
He gave Solomon wisdom beyond measure
Application:
There are things about your life, destiny, and future that only God can reveal—seek Him!
4. The Limitation of Man: “Which thou knowest not”
This reminds us that human knowledge is limited.
You don’t know everything about your future
You don’t know every solution to your problems
But God knows all things
Application:
Stop relying only on your understanding—invite God into every decision.
Conclusion
Jeremiah 33:3 is more than a verse—it is an open invitation from God:
To call Him
To trust Him for answers
To receive divine revelation
No matter where you are today—God is saying, “Call Me.”
Altar Call / Prayer Points
1. Prayer for a deeper prayer life:
“Lord, teach me to call on You consistently.”
2. Prayer for answers:
“Father, every area of confusion in my life—answer me.”
3. Prayer for revelation:
“Show me great and mighty things concerning my destiny.”
Closing Charge
Don’t live a life limited by what you know. There is a God who is ready to show you what you do not know.
